John A. Charlton, 72, died Wednesday, January 22, 1992 at a local nursing home of cancer.

He was born November 15, 1919 in West Weber, a son of A. Ray and Nettie Hogge Charlton.

He married Cindy Middleton. She died in January of 1990.

He was reared and educated in Ogden.

He was a member of the LDS Church.

He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army 163rd infantry as a Master Sgt. He served in the South Pacific for four years. He was a member of the V.F.W.

Mr. Charlton has been a tool and die maker for Rockwell International and Altec.

Surving are one daughter, Jean Anderson, Provo; three grandchildren, Jennie, Jared, and Stephanie Anderson all of Provo.

Also surviving are three brothers and five sisters, George Charlton and Larry Charlton, both of Ogden; Merrill Charlton, Bullhead City, Ariz.; Genett Munson, Weed Calif.; Laura Ekins, St. George; Anna Beth Gardiner Denver, Colo.; Mae Adams, Layton; Elda Hadley, Taylor.

He was proceded in death by his wife Cindy, a granddaughter, Tiffany, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services weill be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washigton Blvd.; with Bishop LeRoy Harrick officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment: Mt. Shasta Memorial Park, Mt. Shasta, Calif.
