James B. Dempsey

James B. Dempsey, 90, 1821 Lane, died Tuesday, Aug. 5,at his home.
Mr. Dempsey was an electrical engineer with the National Bureau of Standards at Washington, D.C. He retired in 1947. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War I.

He was born May 25, 1896, in Topeka, the son of James P. and Hattie C. Dempsey. He returned to Topeka in 1947.
He and his wife, Mrs. Blanche Dempsey, were married in Washington, D.C. She died in 1946. * An infant child also died in 1946.**
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Florence Sellards, Topeka.

Private graveside services will be Friday in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5375 W. 7th, 66606. Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
* According to records, Blanche died in 1934, and is buried in Rock Creek Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
**Their son, James B. Dempsey Jr., died in 1933, and is buried in the same cemetery as his mother.
