Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) — Tuesday, July 11, 1995. Obituary: Inez Marie Curfew Mason, 96, of Aurora, died Sunday, July 9, 1995, at the Porter Nursing Home in St. George. She was born February 5, 1899 in Reed, Beaver County, Utah, to James and Lois Stoddard Curfew. She married William Gerald Mason, March 27, 1918 in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death February 2, 1984. She was active in the LDS Church, where she served largely in a music capacity which she loved. She was a chorister in the various organizations, she sang many solos, especially in funerals. In February 1956, she moved with her husband and two youngest sons to McAllen, Texas. Here, besides farming and raising citrus groves, they helped to build up a branch of the church. She again served in music and in the Relief Society. She and her husband also served a mission while there. They fulfilled two full time missions for the church, first to the North Central States and later to the Oakland Temple.

She is survived by one daughter and three sons, Lorraine Johnson, St. George; ElRoy Mason (Tess), Cedar City; Kenneth Mason (Elnora), Redmond, Washington; Leon Mason, Salt Lake City. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Agnes Jensen, Gunnison.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Marvin and Bernell, two daughters, Arlene and Carma, and three great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13 at 11 a.m. in the Aurora Chapel. Friends may call at the Warren R. Jensen Funeral Home in Salina, Wednesday evening, 7-9 p.m. and at the chapel in Aurora from 9-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren R. Jensen Funeral Home.
