Henry farewell
Love in Life
in death not divided
Henry Mangan Chilton Times November 19, 1892
Died—At the northern hospital at Oshkosh, on Wednesday, Nov. 15, Henry Mangan, aged 33 years, 9 months and 5 days. The deceased was a son of James Mangan Sr. He was born in the town of Chilton, Feb. 10, 1859 and has passed most of his life among our people. Some months ago his health began to fail and he showed symptoms of softening of the brain. On the advice of physicians he was taken to the hospital at Oshkosh, for treatment, and it was hoped that he would receive relief and regain his health. At first he showed improvement, but shortly afterwards grew worse and gradually failed until relieved by death. During his last few hours his brothers and sisters were at his bed side.
The remains were brought to this city on Wednesday over the Milwaukee and Northern railroad and were taken to the home of the heart-broken parents in Chilton Friday forenoon, when the funeral took place from St. Augustine Church.
Henry Mangan during his lifetime was an honest, upright citizen, steady and industrious. He was possessed of a charitable nature and was always willing and anxious to assist those in need or distress. He was respected by his neighbors and friends for his manly ways; he was loving and attentive to his aged parents and kind and generous to his brothers and sisters.
The Times extends the hand of sympathy to the relatives in their hour of grief.
