DIED AT APPLETON
A telephone message received by Henry Roach on Wednesday evening notified him of the death of James Mangan at his home in Appleton at 6:00 o'clock that evening.
The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Mangan, pioneer settlers of the town of Chilton, and at the time of his death was sixty-nine years old. He spent his boyhood and grew to manhood here and for a number of years was the owner of the farm of his father-in-law, the late Owen O'Hern, which is now the property of Lewis McGrath.
Some twenty years ago he sold the farm and for a short time made this city his home and later lived at Hilbert. For some years he and his family have resided at Appleton. Mr. Mangan enjoyed the friendship and esteem of those who knew him. He is survived by his widow, six sons and two daughters. He also leaves a brother, John Mangan of this city and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Hurley of Milwaukee and Mrs. Leonard Miller of Menominee. Mich.
The funeral service was held at St. Mary's church at
Appleton on Friday morning, the remains being brought to this city Friday afternoon for burial in the family lot in St. Augustine's cemetery. Rev. Fr. J. E. Meagher officiating at the grave.
