Mrs. Leila Garver of Clare passed away Sunday morning April 11 at her home following two years of failing health.
She was born October 9, 1894 in Arthur township, Clare County, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Anderson and had lived in the Clare area all her life except for 30 years in Grand Rapids.
She was a member of the Colonville Church of God and the Clara Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are the husband Walter E., two sons Donald Calkins of Mt. Pleasant, Lewis Calkins of Grand Rapids, one daughter Mrs. George Shayler of Clare, eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one sister Mrs. John Tomasvetswski of Harrison, two brothers, Wm. Earl Anderson of Clare and Albert Anderson of Lansing.
Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, April 14th from the United Methodist Church, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles Hilliard and Rev. Donald Palmer officiating and burial in Cherry Grove Cemetery. Rebekah memorial services were held Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at the Stephenson-Doherty Funeral Home.
