Obituary in The Gadsden Times dated September 6, 1888: "Died in Attalla 28th inst. Mrs. F.M. Burke. She was buried at the graveyard near Mr. W.S. Tillison east of Gadsden. Her son preceded her to the grave about one month ago."

Burk family (note surname Burk)...
Francis Marion born about 1835 to 1837.
His wife, Eliza, born about 1836 to 1837.
They had 11 children as per the census
records, etc.:

Viola Burke married in Etowah Co. Dec. 26, 1891 David McDaniel. Her death date is unknown, but Mr. McDaniel remarried and was buried in Jefferson Co., AL. Paralee married Jobe Curry and they lived in Attalla, AL in 1900. In 1910, Paralee was widowed and she and five children lived in Trenton, Dade Co., GA. Paralee's sons were coal miners. Eliza's sons, William and Frank were also coal miners. *********************************
