"Former Inspector For Walworth Company Ill For Two Years"
Barkley Lynn Burke, 71, died early this morning at his home at 314 Fifth Ave., Attalla, after an illness of two years. Prior to his illness, Mr. Burke had been employed as inspector by the Walworth Co. of Attalla. Funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence with the Rev. C.C. Turner, the Rev. John W. Gibbs and the Rev. W.T. Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Attalla Cemetery. Brown-Service in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Katie V. Burke; four sons, James B. of Chattanooga; Benny F. of Augusta, Michigan; Robert Cecil of Gadsden and Albert Burke of Attalla; and three daughters, Miss Elizabeth Burke and Mrs. Frank Ledbetter of Attalla; and Mrs. J.W.Dooley of Gadsden. He is also survived by two brothers, Frank Burke of Zeigler, Illinois; and C.C. Burke of Birmingham. Active pallbearers will be Tom Stanford, Otha Harris, Verna Dunn, Edgar Lee, G.B.
