Mrs. Noel, 96, of 1026 Powell Ave., Cresson, died Saturday, March 20, 1993, at home.
Mrs. Noel taught school in Cresson Township for 48 years. She was also a foster grandmother for the first grade class of All Saints School, Cresson.
She was born Sept. 18, 1896, in Cresson, the daughter of James and Ida (Plummer) Parrish. She married William Noel. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are three children: Rebecca Dunmyer of Cresson, Francis of Shelby, Ohio, and Nancy Layaou of Bristow, Va.; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews: John Parrish of Laurel, Md., Paula Mitchell of Bakerton, Thomas Parrish of Killeen, Texas, and Joseph Parrish of Cresson, who were raised in her home.
Mrs. Noel was the longest life member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary.
She attended Grove City College.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson.
NOEL – The funeral of Agnes A. Noel of 1026 Powell Ave., Cresson, will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, by the Rev. William Mullen.
Interment at church cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 tp 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where Legion of Mary will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m. today and a wake service will be held Tuesday evening.
She was the last of her immediate family of 11, being preceded in death by a son, John, grandchildren: Joan Dunmyer and Carl Saksa Jr., and several brothers and sisters.
