CRESSON, March 16. – In declining health for the past several months, Mrs. Mary Ida (Plummer) Parrish, one of the pioneer settlers in Cresson township, died yesterday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock. She was born on Dec. 22, 1860, at Wilmore, a daughter of Samuel and Martha (Long) Parrish. She was united in marriage with James A, Parrish on Sept. 29, 1885, in Wilmore.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Parrish is survived by the following sons and daughters: Officer Percy Peter Parrish and Charles A. Parrish, both veterans of the World War, Paul Parrish, Joseph H. Parrish, Mary, wife of Elmer J. Bradley, Agnes, wife of William L. Noel, and Martha, wife of S.J. Fisher, all of this place; Catherine, wife of Thomas Lloyd, and Margaret, wife of Bernard Cassidy, both of Pittsburgh. Two daughters, Mrs. Paul Adams and Miss Zita Parrish, preceded her to the grave.
Mrs. Parrish was a sister of John Plummer of Juniata, Annie, wife of T.F. Lundy of Greenwood, Joseph Plummer, well known retired Pennsy engineer of South Fork, Frank Plummer of Lovett, Mrs. Harvey Naughton and Mrs. Charles Gordon, both of Windber. Twenty-five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. She was affiliated with the St. Aloysius Catholic church, Summit, and its various auxiliaries.
