Maureen A. James, 61, of Manteno, died Sunday (May 20, 2012) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Manteno, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Father Dan Belanger will officiate.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon. Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
Mrs. James worked at Grief Inc. in Bradley. She had also worked at Monsanto, Valspar and Borg Warner. She was born Aug. 8, 1950, in Dixon, the daughter of Francis and Frances Brechon O'Brien. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and the Rosie Fund. She received a Master of Business Arts degree from Olivet Nazarene University. She gave to many charities and loved gardening.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas M. James, of Manteno, whom she married Oct. 10, 1979, in Dixon; one stepdaughter, Laura Enlow, of Dixon; one stepgrandson, Derrick Enlow, of Dixon; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Rilynn Enlow; one sister and brother-in-law, Marita and Russ Fritts, of Dixon; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ron and Colleen O'Brien, of Dixon, Joe O'Brien, of Rock Falls, Dave and Cathy O'Brien, of Harvard, Gene O'Brien, of Franklin Grove, and Charles O'Brien, of Rock Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
