Betty I. Huenergardt, 90, died April 14 at Rush County Memorial Hospital in La Crosse. She was born Oct. 15, 1911, in Bridgetown, N.J., the daughter of Harry and Sarah Bondar Markowitz. She married Floyd Leslie Huenergardt April 27, 1941, in Detroit, Mich. He died May 16, 1999. A resident of Hays since 1987, coming from Smith Center, she was a homemaker.

Mrs.Huenergardt was of the Jewish faith.

Survivors include two sons, John W. Huenergardt of Salina and Jim Huenergardt of Hays; one daughter, Judy Anguiano of Abilene; one brother, Herman Markowitz of Shorewood, Minn.; and one sister, Marion Greenburg of El Paso, Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, George Huenergardt; two brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Morell Funeral Home Larned with Herman Markowitz officiating. Burial will be at Shaffer Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery in Bison. Memorials are suggested to Rush County Nursing Home, in care of the Morell Funeral Home in Larned.
