She was a native of Laurens County and lived at Clinton 20 years. She was a daughter of the late A. B. and Rebecca Jackson Matthews. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, of Clinton; three daughters and one son, Mrs. Carl Windsor of Charleston and Mrs. Gholdie Simmons, Miss Nancy Jean Blease and Cole L. Blease, Jr., all of Clinton; four sisters, Mrs. Homer Jacks of Joanna, Mrs. C. A. Green of Columbia, and Mrs. James N. Creswell of Clinton, and Mrs. W. H. Freeman of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, B. W. Matthews of Columbia, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon from Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. J.W. Spillers, assisted by the Rev. James Williams. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery. The body will be at the home until 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at which time it will be placed in the church.
