Carrie M. Jacks, age 95, of 625 Whitmire Highway, and widow of John Homer Jacks, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in the Laurens County Hospital.

She was born in Laurens, and was a daughter of the late Abram and Rebecca Jackson Matthews.

She was a homemaker and a charter member of Epworth United Methodist Church, sang in the church choir and quartet, was a member of the Woman's Missionary Union, and was a charter member of the Lady's Sunday School Class.

Surviving are a son, Homer Derl Jacks and wife, Geraldine B. Jacks, of Joanna; a daughter, Sheila Campbell and husband, Keith Campbell, of Cairo, Ga.; five grandchildren, Johnny Jacks, Wayne Jacks, John Jacks, Becky Campbell and Brett Campbell; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Epworth United Methodist Church, with burial in Leesville Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Gray Funeral Home.

The family will be at the son's home, 109 Reeder St., Joanna.

Gray Funeral Home of Clinton is serving the family.
