David Peterson son of Hiram Peterson,was born Jan. 14, 1833 in Genesee County New York. David moved with his father and the rest of his family to Elgin Kane County, Illinois. Which is also were he met and married Rosannah M. Buck On December 21, 1854. David served in the civil war company B Unit 36 Illinois Infantry for 3 years and 4 months, His father also served in the civil war at the same time David served. After the war David and his wife Rosannah moved to Minnesota and settled in at Morristown Rice County Minnesota where they raised their children Hattie Peterson (Mrs. Frank Randall), Murville A. Peterson, Wm.B.Peterson, Nellie Peterson, Nora Peterson,Walter Peterson, Lela Peterson, and Harry Peterson. David's wife Rosannah died May 7, 1911 in Waterville Mn. David lived with his son Walter until his death March 19, 1918 at the age of 85. The funeral was at the Baptist church, with the Rev. M.L. Reynolds officiating. He was laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery in Morristown Minnesota.
