Stanley W. Rex, 87, of 115 State Road, Lehighton, died Thursday in Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. He was the husband of the late Ruth N. (Krum) Rex.
He was a crane operator in the iron furnace of Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 35 years until retiring in 1972. He also was a self-employed electrician and auto mechanic for many years.
Born in Mahoning Mountain, Carbon County, he was a son of the late Martin H. and Annie (Warner) Rex. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lehighton.
Survivors: Son, Robert M. of Lehighton; sisters, Ada Brown, Edna Bonser and Alberta, all of Lehighton, and Margaret Bauer of Northampton; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Charles K.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday in church. Arrangements, Richard M. Miller Funeral Home, Lehighton.
