Alberta I. Rex, 96, formerly of S. Eighth St., Lehighton, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at The Summit Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton. Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Martin H. and Annie (Warner) Rex. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a millworker in the garment industry in Lehighton for many years. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton. In her spare time she enjoyed trips to the family cabin at Promised Land Lake, Pa.
Surviving is a great-great niece, Tammy L., wife of Eric Whiteman of Lehighton, and other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Ada Brown, Violet Snyder, Margaret Bauer, and Edna Bonser; a brother, Stanley Rex; and a great-niece, Brenda Kistler.
Services: will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth St., Lehighton, with the Rev. Nancy L. Moore officiating. Interment in Gnaden Huetten Cemeterey, Lehighton. Call 10-11 a.m.
