He lived most of his life in Trout. He served his country in the Navy in World War II. He drove a Butane Truck for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Agnes Whatley Tingle, son Cilton Tingle, grandson Paul Lane Breland, his parents Homer and Eva Foley Tingle.

Survivors were his sons, Horace Tingle of Jena and Lester Tingle of Trout; daughters, Jo Ellen Bailey of Duson and Carolyn DeKeyzer of Alexandria; daughter-in-law, Ruth Tingle of Belah; brother, Lee "Red" Tingle of Jena; eleven grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren.
