He was an adopted son to a very loving family - Katie West Morrow and Jim Morrow.
He was a member of First Baptist Church North Spartanburg and received a Purple Heart serving in the US Army during WWII.
He is survived by a son, Douglas Williams ( Donna) of Mooresville, NC; a daughter, Brenda West (Michael) of Gramling; sister in law, Kathryn Harrill of Charlotte; sister in law, Audrey Skinner of Gowensville; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, John, Alfred, and Barney and two sisters, Ruth and Prudice.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens conducted by Dr. Alastair Walker with military honors.
The family receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
