Mabel was a gardener and loved to raise Dalihas. Each flower was as big as a 10" dinner plate. Her small home was surrounded by her gardens of plants, flowers and a big Avocado tree that used to drop its fruit on the metal roofing scaring her grandchildren. Mabel was tall with brown eyes and dark hair. She was very attractive and married several times. She loved to set a formal dinner table with a lace table cloth, real silverware and her favorite fried chicken, gravy and homemade rolls.

Mabel was a professional seamstress and tailored clothing for her customers most of her life. She had a sewing room added onto her home just for that purpose.

One day she pulled her grandson, Gary Foster aside to the sewing room and told him about a 'gift of love' her last husband, Sam McGirk had given to her, a life insurnance policy on him to help her financially after he was gone. Many times she felt his gift of love over the years.

Mabel's first and last husband were both barbers by trade. She only had children by her first husband Hugh Ernest Foster and "experiences" from the others.

Mabel's last years of her life were spent in the cool pine tree mountains in Strawberry, Arizona living with her son, Alton Scott Foster until her death. Her body was shipped back to her beloved city of San Diego for burial.

She was loved by her grandchildren who visited with her as often as they could. She will be missed, remembered and seen again in the next life.
