Victoria M. Houston, 82, of 1133 E. Court St. died Thursday at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
Born July 24, 1902, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, she married Glenn F. Houston July 12, 1924, in Iowa City. A graduate of the University of Iowa, she was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Altar & Rosary Society, the Mortar Board, American Association of University Women, Iowa City Women's Club, American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary and Mercy Hospital Guild, were she was in chairman of the pink elephant program for many years. She was also a patron of the Iowa City Community Theater.
Survivors are two sons, G. Philip of Richardson, Texas and Richard F. of Iowa City; one daughter, Jan V. Touhy of Flint, Mich.; one brother, Brig. Gen. (ret.) F.R. Boyles of Honolulu, Hawaii; and 10 grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial: Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday at Donahue-Lensing's where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions can be made to Mercy Hospital Foundation.
