Phil Houston, 94, passed away July 28, 2020 in Plano, Texas. Born on May 16, 1926, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Glenn Frederick and Victoria Boyles Houston.

He graduated from City High in Iowa City, IA, in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. In 1950 in Omaha, NE, he married Doris Anderson who preceded him in death August 9, 2017 after 67 years of marriage.

He was employed by Motorola Communications & Electronics engaged primarily with government account sales and as Control Center Consultant in Omaha, NE, Sioux City, IA, Shawnee, KS, and Dallas, Texas. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Richardson since 1971 serving on many committees. He often volunteered his time at St. Luke’s as part of the “Yard Birds” lawn mowing crew. Additionally, he regularly delivered food for VNA’s Meals on Wheels. He sharpened his mind by completing daily crossword puzzles. He enjoyed 1940s swing music and was a devoted University of Iowa Hawkeye football fan.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, his brother, Richard F. Houston and his daughter, Jill Houston Grant. Survived by one daughter, Susan Houston Lacy and two sons, Jeffrey Scott and Douglas Alan, one sister, Jan Houston, six grand children, five great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends.

Interment: Restland in Dallas, Texas...RFH
