Mary Glenn Smithwick was the daughter of Thomas Andrew and Leola Smithwick of Cherokee County, GA.

On August 20, 1939, Mary Glenn Smithwick married Harold Booth in Cherokee County, GA (Cherokee County Marriage Book K., p. 158). They had several children: John Thomas, James Lee, Jerry Leon, and Betty Jo Booth.

Mary Glenn Smithwick Booth, 82, of Marietta died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, with the Rev. Jimmy Day officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.

A Cherokee County native, Mrs. Booth was a homemaker and a Baptist. Mrs. Booth was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of Marietta and Chattahoochee Baptist Church in Marietta.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Harold Booth; three sons, John Thomas Booth of Ellijay and James Lee Booth and Jerry Leon Booth, both of Marietta; one daughter, Betty Jo Steadman of Ellijay; two brothers; Alvin Smithwick of Alpharetta and Calvin Booth of Doraville; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
