LUCIENNE JANE COUTURE ANGOLANO - SOUTH BURLINGTON - Lucienne "Nan" (Couture) Angolano, 85, of South Burlington, a longtime resident of Colchester, died Saturday, May 12, 2012, in Fletcher Allen Health Care, in Burlington.

Nan was born in Winooski on Nov. 19, 1926, the daughter of George William Leo Couture and Ella Maude(Martin) Couture.

In 1936, George passed away, and in 1939, Ella joined her husband, leaving three young children. Fortunately, George's sister and her husband, Charlotte "Lottie" and Leo Myers, became custodians over the children and raised them as their own. The children loved them dearly and were also extremely grateful.

In 1945, Nan went to work in the office of the Porter Screen Shop in Winooski as payroll clerk. During that time, people were being scouted to work for Civil Service in Washington D.C., and she was offered a job there and took it. She loved her job and the people she met, but after six months or so, the war ended and her husband-to-be came home from the war, therefore she came home to get married. Nan worked at other jobs to include Sears, and later on went to work at UVM and stayed there until her retirement.

Nan is survived by her Loving husband, Henry D. Angolano. They were married 66 years in Feb. 2012. She is also survived by her children, daughter, Marlene L. Duell; and her son, David H. Angolano and his wife, Valerie. Nan is survived by four grandchildren and their spouses, Tina and Scot Haskins, Christopher and Zarabeth Duell, David "D.J." Angolano, and Heather Angolano; five great- grandchildren, Ashley and Kelsey Haskins, Ty and Garrett Duell, and a new little girl, Lucy Angolano; her sisters-in law, Eva Brunelle and Mildred Couture; and many nieces and nephews, as well as Grand Nieces and Nephews.

Nan was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Leopold Couture, and William Roy Couture; sister, Constance Brothers-Callahan; and guardians, Leo and Charlotte Myers. Her loving son-in-law, Richard Duell, passed away in early 2009. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Cemetery on Gorge Road in Colchester. Arrangements are with the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St., in Winooski.
