COLUMBIA - Services for Raymond Otto Yandle, Sr., 83, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2003 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, with military honors, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. C. Alvin Fleming and the Rev. Jimmy Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Palmetto Chapter, PO Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202-7044 or to SC Heart Center, 2001 Laurel Street, Columbia, SC 29204.

Mr. Yandle died Monday, February 17, 2003. Born December 24, 1919 in Winnsboro, he was a son of the late George McDonald Yandle and Jessie Mae Cooper Yandle. He was a World War II veteran of both the US Navy and the US Army. He was a retired self-employed partner of Yandle Sanitation and Landfill and was a good and loving husband and father. The family wishes to express their special thanks to Dr. Frederick Smith and Columbia Medical Services.

Surviving are his wife, Irene Crosby Yandle of Columbia; daughter, Kay Yandle (David) DeLoach of West Columbia; stepdaughter, Karen V. (Tom) Brown of Iowa City, Iowa; sons, Raymond O. (Tina) Yandle, Jr. of St. Matthews, Joseph B. (Beth) Yandle of West Columbia; stepson, James F. Vernan of Gaston; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Jessie Yandle Wright of West Columbia; brothers, George B. Yandle, Luke D. Yandle and Ted C. (Sarah) Yandle, all of Columbia, Walter H. (Betty) Yandle of Springdale, Jack E. (Laddie) Yandle of Dentsville and Richard D. (Beth) Yandle of Calabash, NC. He was predeceased by a daughter, Claudette Yandle Dellinger.
