Hazel K. Benner



Hazel K. Benner, 91, a resident at The Blair Chalet, Hollidaysburg RD, formerly of Roaring Spring, died Wednesday evening. June 12, 2002, at the chalet.

She was born Nov. 2,1910, in Henrietta, a daughter of Frank and Carrie (Garber) Benner.

She was a member of Christ Church, Roaring Spring.

She retired from the Roaring Spring Blank Book Co. with 47 years of service. She was a 1928 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School. She volunteered at Nason Hospital for many years and enjoyed baby-sitting and watching sports on television.

Surviving are a son. Robert W. and wife, Mary Lou. of Roaring Spring; two sisters: Edna Benner, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, and Jane Bowers of Roaring Spring; three grandchildren: Robert W. Jr. and Mitchell Benner and Sharon Wolf; and two great-grandchildren: Kelly Anne

Benner and Wyatt Benner Wolf.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Benner Jr.; and four sisters: Alberta Brumbaugh, Helen Brumbaugh, Ethel Benner and Geraldine Raugh.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing, but friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. today, June 14.2002, at the J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. by Pastor Galen H.

Brumbaugh.

Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Martinsburg RD.

Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Church, Roaring Spring, or the Roaring Spring Community Library.
