Owen Hawkins, Jr., 73, of Decatur died on August 9, 2008 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born on December 8, 1934 in Decatur to Owen and Rose Mae (Smith) Hawkins. He was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Danny Lee Hawkins and David Earl Hawkins; his brothers, Claude Leslie Hawkins, Fay Franklin Hawkins, Paskel Boyd "Pat" Hawkins, Paul Hawkins, and Ray Orval Hawkins; and his sister, Marie Louise Hudman. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Betty (Hanna) Hawkins; his children, Diane Hawkins of Austin, Texas, Dwayne Hawkins of Bentonville, Dennis Owen Hawkins of Sulphur Springs, Debbie Lea Little of Eucha, Oklahoma, and Dana Sue Hawkins of Little Rock; his step-son Bill Clinton; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Decatur Assembly of God Church officiated by Pastor Kirk Anderson. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home.
