Paskel Boyd "Pat" Hawkins, 78, a resident of Hugoton since 1954, died on February 19, 1998 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal. He was born on November 16, 1919 in Marble, Arkansas, the son of Owen and Rose Mae (Smith) Hawkins. He married Dorothy Marie Burns on May 26, 1941 in Decatur, Arkansas. He was retired from Stevens County Highway Department. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Carl James Hawkins; his brothers, Paul Hawkins and Ray Orval Hawkins; and his sister, Marie Louise Hudman. Survivors include his wife; his sons, Philip Boyd Hawkins and Rickey Gene Hawkins, both of Hugoton; his daughter, Joyce Marie Cox of Hugoton; his brothers, Claude Leslie Hawkins of Glendale, Arizona, Fay Franklin Hawkins of Fairfield, California, and Owen Hawkins, Jr. of Decatur, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at Assembly of God Church with Rev. Robert Bailey officiating. Burial was in Hugoton Cemetery under the direction of Paul's Funeral Home.
