Rosa Mae Philpott, 86, died on February 6, 1980 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton, Kansas. A longtime resident of Decatur, she had moved to Liberal, Kansas recently to live with her daughter, Marie Louise Hudman. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Owen Hawkins; her second husband, Eli Commodore Philpott; and her son, Paul James Hawkins. Survivors include her sons, Claude Leslie Hawkins and Owen Hawkins, Jr., both of Decatur, Fay Franklin Hawkins of Fairfield, California, and Paskel Boyd "Pat" Hawkins and Ray Orval Hawkins, both of Hugoton, Kansas; her daughter, Marie Louise Hudman of Liberal, Kansas; her brothers, Jesse Lester Smith of Decatur and Rufus Franklin Smith of Springdale; twenty two grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at Decatur Assembly of God Church with Rev. John McGoy officiating. Interment was in Decatur Cemetery under the direction of Pyeatte Funeral Home.
