Rev. Carlos B. Gordley, 91, of Groveport, Ohio, formerly of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away May 6, 2012. He was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Wamsley, Ohio. Carlos was preceded in death by his wife, Nora June and parents, Eli and Carrie Gordley. He is survived by his children, Ralph Eugene "Pete" Gordley, Ella Mae Nora "Sis" (Frank) Adams and Bobby Joe (Teri) Gordley; brother, Ottis Gordley and 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Carlos served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a radioman aboard the USS Alchiba. He earned the Presidential Unit Citation for his service. Carlos retired from C & O Railroad in Chesapeake, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123, funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 1 p.m. Burial in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio.
