Dorothy M. Borowicz, 74 years old of Inverness Township, passed away at the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 28, 2002, where she was a patient in Larson Hall. She was born in Munro Township, on January 18, 1928, the daughter of William and Sara (Palmatier) Hill. On July 17, 1948, she married Benedict A Borowicz. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1998. Dorothy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She loved gospel music, gardening and her flowers in the spring.
Dorothy is survived by her children Benedict (Kathy) Borowicz of Holland, Mich., Roger (Sandra) Borowicz of Cheboygan, and Kathryn (Larry) La Fond of Lakeland, Fla. She also leaves five grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Borowicz, Jarad Borowicz, Ivory Lynn Krogulecki, and Mandi Lynn LaFond, as well as four great-grandchildren, Gillian, Zachary, Joseph and Kristopher.
She was the last of her family and was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Silas, Orville, Wilford, Melvin, Ralph, John, Oliver, and Alger and her sisters Muriel, Virginia, Marilyn, Millicent, Anita and Grace.
The funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, April 1, 2002, at Sacred Heart Church in Riggsville. Burial took place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
