MRS. NANNIE MORTIMORE, PIONEER RANCH WOMAN, DIES FOLLOWING PARALYTIC STROKE.

Mrs. Nannie Mortimore, pioneer ranch woman, passed away at her home on Deer Creek Tuesday morning and was buried Thursday afternoon by the side of her husband and four children in a plot reserved as the last resting place of the family on that ranch that had been her home for 40 years. Mrs. Mortimore was born in Maryland in 1864. Coming to Ft. Fetterman in the 80's when Mr. Mortimore was a hospital steward at the military post, they soon afterward came to Glenrock and homesteaded the place that by hard toil was developed into one of the best small ranches in this part of the country. About three years ago Mrs. Mortimore was stricken with paralysis, since then her health has been precarious. A second stroke came a few weeks ago and little hope was held for her recovery, although some improvement was noted during short periods. Mrs. Mortimore was the mother of nine children, four of whom survive. They are Dewey and Lela Mortimore who reside at the ranch; Mrs. Letis Meek of Casper, and Morton Mortimore who is in California. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon.
