George was the 8th of 8 children born to Joseph Washington Link and Columbia Jane Condray Link. His siblings were Alfred McCoy, Joseph Ellis, Amanda Link Canterberry, Mary Jane Link Julian, Agnes Edith Link McCullough Barnes, Charity Link Payne, and Matilda Sarah Link Carnahan.

He married Mary Ellen Harris on January 30, 1908 in Carter Co., MO and they had 7 children: Jane L. Paradine, Golda Lillian, Mathew E., Roberta M., Elmer R., Irene M., and Ida M.

George's paternal grandparents were Josiah Link and Jane Rex Link.

His maternal grandparents were Ellis Mason Condray and Catherine Watson Condray.

George's obituary was published in the 3-21-1963 edition of The Current Local, Van Buren, MO (pg. 2, col. 5)

"George Washington Link, a son of Joseph W. and Jane (Condray) Link, was born near Ellsinore, Feb. 28, 1886, died at the home of a daughter in St. Louis March 4, 1963.

In 1908 he was married to Miss Mary Ellen Harris who died several years ago. He is survived by two sons, Matthew Link of St. Louis and Elmer Link of Winona; five daughters, Mrs. Jane Ambrose, Mrs. Lillian Condray, Mrs. Robert Garrett, Mrs. Irene Degraffenreid and Mrs. Ida Mae Million, all of St. Louis, and one sister, Mrs. Charity Grissom of Doniphan.

Funeral services were conducted March 7th at the 1st Baptist Church in Ellsinore by Rev. Don Price, assisted by Rev. Elisha Holland. Burial was at the Robertson Cemetery, with the Gish Funeral Home of Piedmont in charge.

Pallbearers were all grandsons. George had lived in the Ellsinore vicinity all his life, and had been a member of the Crommertown General Baptist Church for many years.--Ellsinore correspondent.
