Mathew's obituary from McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellsinore, MO stated:

"Mathew Elbert "Mac" Link, son of the late George and Mary Ellen (Harris) Link, was born August 31, 1913 in Chilton, Missouri, and departed this life February 19, 2013 in St. Louis, Missouri. He had attained the age of ninety-nine years, five months and nineteen days. Mr. Link had resided in St. Louis since moving from Ellsinore, Missouri in 1933. He was a self-employed businessman and formerly owned and operated several businesses including rental properties, wholesale grocery, home repair and construction and a trucking company. During World War II he worked at a small arms plant. He was of the Baptist belief and in the 1960's he was baptized in the Southside Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Juanita Williams, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his beloved companion and best friend, Caryen Dalton; four children, Zelma Hammond and husband Richard, Matthew Link and wife, Norma, Charles Link and wife, Loretta and Gary Link and wife, Sherry, son-in-law Gene Williams, twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren, seventeen great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 in the McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellsinore, Missouri with a celebration of life funeral service following at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Robertson-Owl Roost Cemetery in Ellsinore, Missouri. Clergy: Rev. Tom Wilder"

After their divorce, Mathew married Mabel J. Brown on 6/19/1944 in AR.

His paternal grandparents included Joseph Washington Link and Columbia Jane (Condray) Link.

His paternal great-grandparents included Ellis Mason Condray and Catherine Watson Condray.

His maternal grandparents included John Wesley Harris.
