Enlisted in Co. E, 8th New York Cavalry on October 15th 1861. Re-enlisted on December 1st 1863 and was discharged on June 27th 1865 in Alexandria, Virginia.

Harrison Alexander, 90-year-old Civil War veteran, and member of Sprout Post G. A. R. of this city, died this morning at the City hospital here from the effect of a fall on December 15. Alexander, who was an almost daily visitor at the G. A. R. hall on Cottage street, slipped and fell on the floor there, fracturing his right hip.

The deceased was born at LeRoy, January 22, 1841. He served for three and a half years in the Union Army as a member of Company E, Eighth New York Artillery. In his later life, he operated a farm in the town of Royalton, retiring several years ago to make his home at 291 Washburn street. He was a member of the Dysinger Baptist church and served for several years as quartermaster of Sprout Post.

He leaves one son, Beecher S. Alexander, town of Royalton, one daughter Miss Cora Alexander this city, six granchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the home of his son on the Akron road, Rev. Ivan I. Lange, pastor of the First English Lutheran church, this city, officiating. Burial will be in Dysinger cemetery.
