Died—At his home in this city, on Thursday, March 10, August Brandes, aged 80 years, 10 months, 24 days. Mr. Brandes was a native of Germany having been born at Hanover, that country, April 17, 1817. He came to America with his family in 1869 and settled in Fond du Lac County, where he remained one year and then located in the town of Rantoul, this county, where he remained until 1893, when he came to this city to reside.
He had always been a rugged, hard working man and enjoyed good health until last fall when he began to fail. Keller, of this city, Mrs. Henry Stier, of Oshkosh, and Mrs. Oscar Hedrich, of Rantoul, and a large number of grandchildren to mourn his death.
The funeral will take place from the Ebenezer church, Sunday morning and 1 p.m.
