VJ Peterson and Margaret Eillen Bowen, daughter of Cordon Corsanda and Gussie Honaker Bowen, were married November 19, 1932 in Aztec, San Juan County, New Mexico. VJ and Margaret (# 69699432)had two daughters; Margaret Ann (Annie) Peterson Crain (# 69699420) and Susan Mae Peterson Batchelder.
The letters 'VJ' for VJ's name are not a shortened version for some other name nor is it a nickname, VJ is his legal name given to him at the time of his birth.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Peterson on January 10th, a son. Mother and son doing well and Walter, well you can't hold him with a four inch hay cable.

VJ Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Peterson, left via his "Sparkplug" - a regenerated Ford speeder - accompanied by his sister, Miss Flossie for Grand Forks on Monday. From there he goes to Fort Snelling, Minn., where he will enter upon a month's military training. Let's hope that Sparkplug will hold out until its master reaches his destination in safety and without encountering too many speed cops.

VJ Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Peterson, who has attended the Civilian Military Training Camp at Fort Snelling for the past month, returned home Tuesday. Nine hundred young men from North and South Dakota and Minnesota, of which over three hundred came from North Dakota, took advantage of this military training course. North Dakota, so we are told, carried off a number of first prizes in many of the athletic sports as well as in appearance and general health.
