Lula Marie Amdor, third eldest child of James D. and Mary T. Amdor, passed away March 3, 1965 in Rosary Hospital, Corning, Iowa, at the age of 55 years, five months and 13 days. Her death was preceded by an illness of five months.

For the past three years Lula resided in Massena, caring for her aged mother, prior to that she lived in Arlington Heights and Chicago, Illinois.

Lula Amdor graduated from Corning High School, taught school in the vicinity, was employed in Omaha, Nebraska, in retail sales and then in Michigan City, Indiana, where she was a receptionist and cashier at the Glasshouse restaurant. After leaving Michigan City in 1941 she was associated with a drug company in Chicago for several years before employment at Lisa's Draperies in 1957 in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Lula was a kind and devoted individual and did a superb job of caring for her aged parents. She did this out of love and affection and found great enjoyment and fulfillment in her duties. She had great devotion for her family, friends, relatives and took much interest in the community and her church. After returning to Massena after having been away for so many years, she renewed old friendships and made many new friends.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary Amdor of Massena; three brothers and four sisters, namely: Edward Amdor of Massena, Mrs. Gene Sullivan (Velma) of Oskaloosa, Mrs Gilbert Parker (Dorothy) of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Mrs Maurice Checoine (Sally) of Des Moines, Donald Amdor of Massena, Mrs. Paul Thompsen (Rita) of Oakland, California, and Gene Amdor.

Another brother, Frank, preceded her in death in 1941. Her father passed away March 22, 1962. She is also survived by 10 nieces and eight nephews; 18 great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
