John E. (Ed) Amdor, son of James Dayton and Mary (Eblen) Amdor, was born August 29, 1904, in Carbon, Iowa. Ed graduated from Massena High School and attended Creighton University. After returning home he farmed and started a purebred Angus cattle herd. He was later appointed postmaster of the Massena Post Office. After serving as postmaster for several years, he became a rural mail carrier, a position he held until he retired from federal service. He married Mary Farrell of Omaha, Nebraska, on December 27, 1934. They had four children. Mary passed away September 29, 1952.

Ruth Claire, a graduate of Iowa State University, is married to Alvin Klouda and lives in Moline, Illinois. They are the parents of four children: John, Mary Jane, Michael, and Thomas.

Mary Patricia, a graduate of Creighton University, taught school for many years. She lives in Omaha, Nebraska and has two children, William and Mary Elizabeth.

John Edward, Jr. (Jack) graduated from Iowa State University School of Veterinary Medicine and practiced in Massena for 18 years. He married Joyce Schroeder of Lake City, Iowa, and they have three children: John, Julie, and Jason. Julie, Mrs. Richard Stice, is the mother of Nicholas.

Judith Ann attended Creighton University and is married to Raymond F. Smith and lives in Des Moines, Iowa. They have two daughters, Angelina and Rebecca.
