Mr. Finley Peters, 87, a retired carpenter of Richmond, Indiana, formerly of the Saloma community in Taylor County, son of the late Mr. Anderson Peters and Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Evans Peters, was born in Jackson County, Kentucky, February 26, 1891. He died at 11:35 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, 1978, at the Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Indiana, where he had been a patient. He had professed faith in Christ early in life and was of the Baptist faith. He united in marriage to Miss Mary Elizabeth Franklin in 1916. She preceded her husband in death Nov. 18, 1968. To this union four daughters and five sons werer born. Charles Edward Peters and Other Melvin Peters both died in infancy. Mr. Lucian Lee Peters preceded his father in death in 1969. Mr. William Grayden Peters preceded his father in death June 7, 1970. He is survived by Mrs. Kathleen Hall of Greensburg, Indiana; Mrs. Virginia Goodwin of Richmond, Indiana, and Mrs. Frances Miller and MR. Finley Peters, both of Centerville, Indiana, and Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson of Hagerstown, Indiana. Mr. Peters is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. , Monday Sept. 4, at the Parrot & Ramsey Funeral Chapel by Rev. J.D. Campbell. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were; William Goodwin, Ted Roberts, James Peters, Mike Peters, Bill Isaacs, and Danny Davis.
