William Hester Simpson, 71, a Leland dairyman, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 1989 of cardiac arrest at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Simpson of Leland, a Stewart native; five daughters, Mrs. Linda Fay Newsome and Mrs. Darlene Jones, both of Leland, Mrs. Delois Hancock of Natchitoches, La., Mrs Paulette Edwards of Cherokee Village, Ark. and Mrs. Marcell Skeen of Hollandale; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from Pine Forest Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21. The Rev. J.W. Nolen and the Rev. Walter Yeager preached. Interment was in Pine Forest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Elton Edwards, William Newsome, Mike Jones, Lonnie Newsome, Charles Hancock and Michael Newsome. Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
