Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pine Forest Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery in Stewart with Smith Funeral Home of Greenville in charge of arrangements.
A member of Parkview Baptist Church in Leland, she had lived in Carthage for the past four years. Prior to Carthage, she had lived in Leland/Stoneville and in Webster County.
Survivors include her children, Linda Newsome, Leland, DeLois Hancock, White Hall, AR, Paulette Edwards, Carthage, Darlene Jones, Chatham, and Marcell Skeen Battista, Fort Walton, FL; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
