Death of Mrs. M. Baulch
A Forth Pioneer

The death occurred on Saturday at "Medlands," Forth, of the late Mr. Moses Baulch, after an illness of about two years, in the 87th year of her age. Her husband, who was a councillor and J. P. of the Leven Municipality, predeceased her by 13 years. Despite her advanced years, until two years ago she was a very active and industrious woman and her whole life was characterised by unceasing dedication to her family, and the "Medlands" home was always a haven and hospitality was always lavishly dispensed.
The deceased lady was born at Longford and was the daughter of the late Mr. George Greig; she had resided at "Medlands" about 50 years. One daughter died many years ago, but there are five sons and five daughters living, the daughters being Mesdames E. Knights, T. Wood, G. P. R. Mulligan, P. J. Layton and Miss Baulch, who resided with her mother. The sons are Henry, Charles, George (who also resided with his mother), John and Joseph, and they all reside comparatively close to the homeland.
The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon and although impossible to publish a press notice of the death or funeral, a large number of relatives and friends attended to pay their last tribute of respect, no fewer than 24 cars being in the procession, in addition to a large number of pedestrians who joined the cortege before it reached the Methodist cemetery, where the Methodist Home Missionary, Mr. O. R. James conducted the service at the graveside.
Mr. James spoke of the sterling Christian life of deceased, who had assisted and supported her church in every possible way and who had proved herself a real mother in Israel and he extended the sympathy of the whole community to the relatives.
The chief mourners were Mr. Allen Greig, of Bracknell (brother of deceased) and Mrs. Greig, the sons and daughters, Senator Herbert Hays and the Hon. Alex. Lillico, M.L.C., friends of the family, were also present. The wreaths were beautiful and numerous, and the beautiful polished oak casket was borne to the grave by her two sons Henry and Charles and her sons-in-law, Messrs. G. P., R. Mulligan and P. J. Layton.
