Paul H. Toepp, 83, of Sly Hill Road, Ava, died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born April 19, 1923 in Rome, N.Y., the son of Henry and Erma Walker Toepp. He graduated from Rome Free Academy and served in the Army Air Force during World War II. On April 19, 1947, he married Dorothy M. French in the Calvary United Methodist Church. She died June 10, 1998. Paul was a photographer for Griffiss Air Force Base for over 30 years, retiring June 18, 1976. He was an avid bowler and bowled in four different leagues.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy and Richard Miller, of Beaverton, Mich., Janice Mazza, of Rome; one sister, Norma Bramble, of Rome; twin granddaughters, Jaime and Jennifer, a grandson, James, and granddaughter, Teri; four great grandchildren, including a special great granddaughter, Trinity Lynn; and all his special bowling friends...
