Jacob Wirick, one of the oldest residents of near Rummel, Somerset County, died at his home on Sunday, of pneumonia, aged seventy-two years and eleven months. Mr. Wirick is survived by his wife, who is in a precarious condition and the following children: Ephraim, Joseph, Noah, and Lewis of Old Ashtola; Mrs. Noah Penrod, of New Ashtola; J. P. of Rummel; Albert and Mrs. John Grush of Paint Township. Mr. Wirick was the son of Frederick and Rebecca (should be Margaret) Wirick and was one of a family of ten children, two of whom survive, one brother and one sister, the brother residing in Dunlo, this county and the sister in Bedford County. Funeral services were held on Tuesday and were conducted by the Rev. Shaffer, of Scalp Level; the remains were laid to rest in the Berkey Church Cemetery.
