He retired from Stanton Cooper, attended First Church of the Nazarene in High Point and was a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Farrell Brewer, in 1968; two brothers, James Brewer of Conover and Cecil Brewer; and a sister, Judy Henson.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Frazier of the home; three sons, Ken Brewer, Darrell Brewer and Barry Brewer; two daughters, Donna Brewer and Sheila Shively; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Beulah Mae Brewer of Conover; three nephews, Steven Brewer of Conover, and Tim Brewer and David Brewer of Newton; and two nieces, Anita Hubbard and Linda Moser of Newton.
Funeral service: the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
Interment: Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation: at the funeral home.
