George Johnson, 75, of 60 Summer St., Newport, died May 22 at Newport Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1899 in Newport, the son of John and Lucy (Pevine) Johnson and was a life-long Newport resident.
For many years, Mr. Johnson was employed at a local shoe shop.
Survivors are three sons, Raymond Johnson, Richard Johnson, and Roland Johnson, all of Newport; a daughter Mrs. Bernard Dunphy, East Hartford, Conn.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial took place May 24 at St. Patrick Church and burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Newport.
