Joseph Arthur Johnson Dies at Home in Newport, Services to Be Tomorrow

Joseph Arthur Johnson, 55, died yesterday at his home, RFD 1, Newport.

Mr. Johnson was born in Newport Sept. 2, 1894, the son of John and Lucy Pevine Johnson. In 1921 he married Myrgurine D. LaFrance, and to this union three children were born, two preceeding Mr. Johnson in death.

He was a trucker and farmer, and was a member of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Ernest L. Johnson; a sister, Mrs. Richard Roberts of Marlboro, Mass.; two brothers, George and Owen Johnson, both of Newport; and several nieces and nephews.

A military funeral will be held at 9 tomorrow moring at the St. Patrick's Church by Fr. J. A. McCarthy.

Bearers will be members of the American Legion.

Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Cemetery.
