Mr. Cunningham worked on the Monon Railroad for nine years, and later worked at Sears, retiring in 1982. After retirement, he drove a van for the Lafayette Eye Center. He was a member of Old Rails, Sears Retirees and Evangelical Covenant Church. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, and had visited all 50 states, went through the Panama Canal, and visited Israel and Egypt.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Carol A. Stacy (husband Perry), Sharon L. Denhardt (husband Michael), and Diane K. Achgill (husband Ralph), all of Lafayette; a son-in-law, James A. White of Crown Point; 24 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two daughters, Jean Creviston and Linda White; two grandchildren, four brothers and a sister.
