Heinrich (Henry) Friedrich Karl Meier was born in Horse Prarie, IL which was near Red Bud, Randolph Co., IL. Horse Prarie is no longer in existance. His confirmation records written in German have been discovered in the Trinity Lutheran Church Records of Red Bud, IL. He was the son of Ernst Friedrich Christian Meier and Friedrike Wilhelmine Carolina Krehmeier/Krehmeyer. He left Illinois probably traveling to the Oklahoma Indian Territory for one of the land runs. He met and married Ada Bertha Pilgrim 10 Dec 1899 in the Chickasaw Indian Territory/OK. Henry was known to have delivered mail driving a horse and buggy in Beckham Co., OK. He had four children prior to his death at age 40 from tuberculosis. This family was living in Turkey Creek, near Foss, in Washita Co., OK at the time of his death. The family was enumerated under the name Muir in the 1910 census.

1. Ernst Leroy Meier, b. 1900, Sayre, OK
2. Robert George Meier, b. 1904, Sayre, OK
3. Hugh Ewell Meier, b. 1908, Elk City, OK
4. Opal Glee Meier, b. 1914, Elk City, OK
5. Juanita Fern Meier, b. 1921, OK City, OK - half sister, b. Juanita Fern Daines.

Henry's father, Ernst Meier, one brother, Wilhelm or William Meier and two sisters, Bertha Meier Goldsmith and Anna Meier ( later Nantes in Illinois) settled in OK for a time, perhaps moving there after the death of Henry's mother, Friederike Carolina Wilhelmine (Krehmeier) Meier in Mar 1900 in IL, but after Henry's early death, these relatives returned to Illinois where their other siblings and family lived. Henry is buried in the Old Foss Cemetery according to family records. It is now abandonded and uncared for as a cemetery.
